Into the City of Angels Ha! Ha! First of all, I need to clarify this; I’m w’Note, not Wataru. Yes, after infesting his website with my new virus, Wataru is completely wiped out from the rants, and if you are buying my idea, you are as insane as me! Okie guys don’t take it serious. I’m not that capable to go all the way and destroy a friend’s hardship. Anyway, I will like to apologise for last week late update. It was all my fault, Wataru did manage to send the file to me in time from the State, but I didn’t manage to upload for him as I’m away in Thailand, Bangkok aka City of Angels, with a friend for a short gateway expedition, and worst of all I didn’t inform Wataru as well, and I make him so damn worried that he thought I didn’t received the file from him at all! Ha ha! I’m so sorry Wat! Probably I need to explain the reason why there isn’t any comics’ page today as well. Wataru is flying off from North Caroline to Washington this week, so won’t be able to complete the pages in time, and coincidently, I just came back from Bangkok and stuff with lots of exciting events which I will like to share with all of you too. So, this week! I had a very proto-type cg artwork posted up to replace the comics which I had done for Wataru when Skookum was only a sketch and far from going online. I find the image rather appropriate for today rants as we are all out for a break, and Yoruki need a time-out as well! Now to Bangkok! I was in Bangkok for four days. The weather there is much heat-up then Singapore, just as notorious as the traffic jam day and night. Yes, I mean it day and night and the weather is just a hot and humid, never seem to be of variation. But to the local Thais, they are adapting to it extremely well, they can even put on think cotton shirt with jacket or even wearing double layer Black shirt walking under the blazing sun of Bangkok, and still not perspiring at all! Bow to the Thais, they are just perfect “sun-walker”. Together with me this round to Bangkok is Zen, an old friend of Wataru as well. For the first day, we enter the Dream world, a place similar to Disney land in the Thai-style. There are a total of four different theme parks seamlessly connected together, allowing you to pierce through dimension of fantasy, adventure and thrilling roller coaster, Viking and even indoor roller coaster ride that test your guts to the limit. Bangkok shopping mall is enormous too, so huge that from point to point it is connected with Monorail sky train ride. You can easily give up after combing a few level of the mall, it is pretty exhausting and if you think you know what to buy, you are wrong! You can easily spoil for choice as well, every floor is neatly categories to IT, Electronic, Ladies fashion, Gents Fashion, Food of different class, and if you think that’s not enough for you, there are two big department store dominating five storeys to dry up your stamina and pocket as well, Ha! Just some of the must do in Bangkok will probably be a visit to the various Wat (temple). There is the famous Reclining Buddha temple, Wat Po, which is the biggest temple in Bangkok that house the golden 46m reclining Buddha. Just very near to it across a road is the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaeo, temple of the Emerald Buddha, no one is allow to go near to the Emerald Buddha except the king himself and only to change the robes for the Buddha as the season changes. Another must do is to take a ride on the boat sightsee the magnificent view of Bangkok river especially with the Sunset at the old Wat Arun, Temple of the Dawn. You need to be there during sunset, as the view then is the best of all, the sun will set directly behind the temple, casting a spectacular silhouette over the temple, simply breath-taking! And of course, the much anticipated weekend market, Chatuchak Market! Chatuchak is a bustling maze of many variety of stores put together without a glitch. There is no landmark probably for you to navigate and you can just effortlessly get lost in there. If you are looking at the map, the market looks well-mark with different section and segment where goods are also categories into there types for sale. but when that suppose to help, it’s not really appealing. I suggest you forget about finding your way, just go in and toddle through the lines and lines of store and be surprise by what next you are going to discover, it’s really amazing at what you can find there, event the most unimaginable stuff are on sale, believe it or not! After days and days of spree-walk, don’t miss the Thai Massage, it promise to be a spa treat you will never forget, one of its kind, I promise! Of all the wonders, there is something to be caution about. Bangkok is a land of bargaining culture, and I ensure you Thais are very good at it! They know you are tourist, they will try all way to provide service to you with a sky high price and if you are smart enough, don’t take it, bargain till you are happy with the price, or perhaps you may like to consider other sources. But generally Thais are all very friendly, the moment you engage them with a service, they will served you to their best! Well, some photos of my exploration is put together above for your viewing pleasure, to completely experience Bangkok, definitely is to be there yourself! Wataru will return next week for the new update, and I believe he had something about Washington to share as well, keep watching yeah!
