Alternative Yoruki

I am on a roll this week and I made it for two updates this week. Well, actually it is just that this page is so much easier to draw, as you can plainly see. I do hope the next week will be this good, and that I can also churn out two pages, but it depends…

If you realise that this page looks different, then you are absolutely right, I just thought of trying something completely new this time round for the Yoruki Splash Page. I don’t do splash pages a lot, so now that I have a chance to present Yoruki, I just thought that I should give a slightly alternative twist to it. Yes, even Yoruki is drawn a little differently from the other pages – I just want to see how it will turn out, you know, like experimenting? For now, I must say I am pleased with the picture, though I feel that it can be improved further, but it was a fun experimenting experience.

I was about to leave the background white so the brown pen lines could stand out a bit more, but I was inspired to do a multi-layered colorful background by Coldplay’s “Speed of Sound” music video. Well, it is not exactly a great background, but I was hoping to represent the twirling turmoil in Yoruki’s thoughts, as Coldplay so aptly wrote in their lyrics, “you gotta see it, then you’ll understand.”
