A good break!
Folks, Yes, it is
time at last with another update. I know I am a good two weeks late, and
I have disappointed quite a lot of readers who have been checking
SKOOKUM! out daily - my sincere apologies, but the good news is my exams
are finally over and hence, I have more time to update SKOOKUM!
punctually. This week we see the entrance of a new character - LUZHIN;
yet another classmate of Yoruki and Miles. I know he looks "different",
well, because I want him to look different, and if you know me, he looks
different for a reason. A reason soon to be revealed. At the same time,
w'Note rants about his sublime experience while performing his mandatory
periodic military service. Over to you w'Note!
------------------------------------------
Thanks Wataru, here's the account of military service ended on 15th
April.
My body is already feeling sleepy even it is just 8pm in the night,
usually at this time I’m still serving the net with much adrenaline.
Well practically, just what has happen to me? I’ll just say there is a
change of bodywork for the past 3 weeks, from my daily corporate job to
an ICT (In Camp Training).

Most peoples take ICT like a plague, something that will comes and you
can’t do anything about it. I take ICT like a great opportunity to break
away from my daily routine at work, to doing something rather different
and fresh. But of course it doesn’t mean you will enjoy all of it, my
past few ICT was kind of a physical and psychological torture, this time
round was rather enjoyable. I wouldn’t disclose what I actually dos and
does, but there are these peoples who accompanied me throughout the ICT
period whom I’ll like to pay tribute to, cause if it is not for them,
this ICT will not have being this wonderful.
My ex-platoon buddies, Roger and KP are both in this ICT as well, which
I only knew on the first day when I “check-in”, it is definitely a great
delight to see someone you know for sure. Then there is King “Ah-Ter”
who join us in our operation section which make up a total of 5 peoples,
I know you must have realize I miss out one more person, this last
person sort of given the rest of us a common topic, I’ll just name him
Tan here.
Tan is an active personnel with the rest of us who is back in the camp
which we once familiarize in. To Tan, we are like alien from another
planet, he never knew what unexpected or unfortunate events he will
expect from us, and he call it “a culture shock”. Cause to him, he’s
just doing a everyday thing; but for us, we wanted to bring out the fun
in everyday then just let it pass monotonously, it just some ways we
packed a “little” excitement to the ICT yeah.
I enjoy talking to Tan; he is not like any others that I have met, but
by the end of ICT, I think he enjoys talking to us more. Tan is a quite
and a low profile person, hearing him laughing out loud is almost
impossible. But on my last section operation with him, he gave all of us
a series of unprecedented laughter, it’s so memorable! Sadly, Tan is a
one way communicate-able friend, which means there is no ways we can
contact him, we can only provide him with our contacts and hopes that he
will look us up one day, which means I don’t even know whether he will
ever has the chance to read this Blog I wrote, ha!
While I’m writing this Blog, Tan is still serving his section operation
with a new team of people, will he miss us? I just hope that this new
team will be better then us which he once met. Tan will be completing
his service in the forces soon, and very soon he will be joining us in
this alien world which “culture shock” him, interesting isn’t it? Ironic
too.
Oh, I had ginseng soup this afternoon as part of my lunch. You must be
thinking “Wow! What a great camp that even serve ginseng soup!” ha! You
are wrong, that ginseng soup was part of a seven courses lunch treat by
KP, thanks yeah! Beside today’s lunch, we call up for delivery order on
weekends while we were attending our operations, cause food provided on
weekends are usually appetite killer. Today lunch was more like an after
ICT reward, as for weekend deliveries are more like a weekends looks
forward. We had pizza on the first week, chicken and mutton curry on the
following week and KFC on our last operation. These are foods which I
take for granted for usually when I’m in the corporate world, but now
when I’m in camp, they are pure indulgence!
One greater discovery is the airplane chess; I believe there are several
versions of the airplane chess available in the market, but I’m
referring to the very traditional one where we played with 4 different
colored wooden chess pieces, and Roger implemented rules such as triple
6 on a dices row make all your operational chess pieces back home. The
exciting part comes the first night when others opponent knocks your
plane back home, and you have to eat a night snack items make up of
bread, bun and cookies, and seriously I means it is a lot of bread, bun
and cookies!
I end up eating so much butter and jam bread while the rest chew down
assorted buns and cookies, and right after all edible items are finished
up, we penalty down to 5 push-up for every knocks-out, and 15 times for
a triple 6 dices row, and if that is not enough, 10 extra for the last
who gamed. Cool, we were all freak out after all the food and push-up,
but that was the most enjoyable time which make me feels like a kid once
again after so many adulthood years. Thank guys, excellent chess play!
And not forgetting, King Ah-Ter still owns 130 push up, 69 more for
Roger, 90 more for KP and 100 for me, hey! Last but not least, my
gratefulness extends out to King Ah-Ter for driving me back to north
zone after every operation, deeply appreciated! Look forward to the next
ICT with you guys (I know that’s kind of difficult, cause the people who
make up the section are always change), and our next chess play together
again.
Wishes everyone good health and take great care!

Attached are some photos taken during our section operations by King Ah-Ter.
There is the sunny-side-up morning sun, the rays of light from the
clouds before sunset, smiling face of Tan, and KP on how we usually
settle our business, ha ha!)
